It’s been almost six years since the finale of The Big Bang Theory, but the sitcom about lovable nerds remains as popular as ever. This enduring appeal is partly thanks to the spinoff Young Sheldon, which concluded last year, and a new series focusing on Georgie and Mandy’s first marriage has since premiered. The universe of The Big Bang Theory is set to expand further, with creator Chuck Lorre developing another series for Max, where Amy Farrah Fowler might also make an appearance. The actress behind the character, Mayim Bialik, is very enthusiastic about the possibility of returning.
Mayim Bialik will appear in a new episode of Night Court, a reboot of the 1980s sitcom of the same name. This guest role serves as a mini-Big Bang Theory reunion, as Melissa Rauch, who played Bernadette, stars in the new Night Court. In an interview about her guest appearance, Bialik addressed the possibility of reprising her role as Amy in the upcoming spinoff. “I’d come back as Amy 100 percent, no doubt about it. It would be fantastic,” she said.
“I know people have a special connection to these characters. I read about the spinoff on Deadline, like everyone else, but I’d love to get a call [about the role],” Bialik added, referencing her cameo in the Young Sheldon finale.
Little is known about the spinoff currently in development for Warner’s streaming service, but it’s rumored to delve deeper into the lives of some of the side characters from The Big Bang Theory, such as Bert, Denise, and Stuart. Brian Posehn, Lauren Lapkus, and Kevin Sussman are reportedly set to reprise their roles. Hopefully, Chuck Lorre takes note of Bialik’s enthusiasm, and we’ll see Amy return in the new series. A few months ago, Kaley Cuoco also expressed her willingness to reprise her role as Penny.
