Among Us Turns Emergency Meetings and Space Paranoia Into a Paramount+ Animated Series

Paramount+ has released the official trailer for Among Us, the animated series adaptation of Innersloth’s global gaming phenomenon — and in true Among Us fashion, the whole season arrived as a surprise drop.

The series follows a group of colourful crewmates aboard a space vessel as they try to figure out who among them is secretly an alien Impostor. That is the simple genius of the original game: everyone has tasks to complete, everyone looks suspicious, and one wrong accusation can doom the whole crew. The animated version takes that same setup and turns it into a full mystery-comedy sci-fi story.

Created by Owen Dennis and animated by Titmouse, the show leans into the paranoia that made the game explode in popularity. Emergency meetings, vent suspicion, sabotage and accusations are no longer just gameplay mechanics; they become story beats in a murder mystery where every crewmate could be lying through their tiny visor.

The voice cast is stacked, with Yvette Nicole Brown, Randall Park, Elijah Wood, Ashley Johnson, Kimiko Glenn, Liv Hewson, Dan Stevens, Wayne Knight, Phil LaMarr, Debra Wilson and Patton Oswalt among the performers. That gives the series a strong comedy ensemble, which matters for a premise built almost entirely on suspicion, timing and betrayal.

What makes Among Us especially interesting as an adaptation is that the game itself has a very loose narrative structure. There is no single hero, no fixed canon plot and no long cutscene mythology to reproduce. That gives the series room to build character, tension and comedy around the core idea: a group trapped together in space, slowly realising that someone is not who they claim to be.

For fans of the game, the trailer promises plenty of familiar details. For newcomers, the appeal is just as clear: a bright, funny, slightly murderous sci-fi mystery where trust is a terrible strategy and every meeting could make things worse.

All ten episodes of Among Us Season 1 are now streaming on Paramount+.
