This summer, a new chapter opens in the dinosaur saga that was launched by Steven Spielberg in 1993 based on Michael Crichton’s work. Jurassic World: Rebirth is coming, and while it isn’t directly connected to the two previous trilogies, it takes place in their world. The film, starring Scarlett Johansson, has finally released its first trailer, which gives us a clearer idea of what to expect.
The director of Rebirth is Gareth Edwards, known for Godzilla (2014), Rogue One, and The Creator, while the screenplay was written by David Koepp, who also scripted Spielberg's original Jurassic Park and its first sequel. Koepp worked from his own ideas but reviewed Crichton's two novels and included a few details from them. In fact, he claims there is a scene from the first book that he always wanted to include in the original film but was unable to find space for at the time. Now, over three decades later, it will finally come to life.
Jurassic World: Rebirth will hit theaters in Hungary on July 3, a week before Superman. The story picks up five years after the events of Dominion, which concluded the previous trilogy. The Earth’s ecosystem no longer supports dinosaurs, and the remaining creatures are pushed back to a tropical island.
Scarlett Johansson’s character, Zora Bennett, arrives on the island as part of a secret mission to collect DNA samples for a medicine, but she and her team make a dark discovery. Alongside Johansson, the film stars Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, David Iacono, and Ed Skrein.
