The fourth season of The Boys wrapped up this past summer. While it initially felt like it was treading water with too many side quests and hints of repetition, the final episodes took things to a whole new level, setting up a major shift in the power dynamic. Now, the stage is set for an inevitable direct confrontation between the titular Boys and Homelander’s supes.
Season 5, confirmed to be the series’ final chapter, has officially started filming. Showrunner Eric Kripke announced the milestone with a snapshot of the first episode’s script cover, and the show’s official X (formerly Twitter) account shared an on-set photo featuring Karl Urban. Both posts can be seen below.
And, in true The Boys fashion, the title of Episode 1 doesn’t shy away from cheeky humor: “Fifteen Inches of Sheer Dynamite.” While it translates quite literally, it’s hard not to interpret it as yet another penis joke—something The Boys writers have gleefully embraced each season with increasingly bizarre phallic gags. It seems likely the tradition will continue in this final stretch.
Unfortunately, according to Karl Urban’s update from July, fans will need to wait until sometime in 2026 for the final season to premiere on Prime Video.
