The U.S. release date for the reboot/sequel of I Know What You Did Last Summer is set for July 18, 2025. Even when the horror project was first announced, it was speculated that a few members of the original 1997 cast might return, including Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Prinze’s involvement was confirmed two months ago, and now Hewitt has made it official with a fresh Instagram post.
“It’s never too late to go back. Julie James is back. I know what you’ll do next summer,” Hewitt wrote alongside the photo.
The new film will be directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, known for co-writing Thor: Love and Thunder with Taika Waititi. Alongside the returning cast, the horror movie will feature newcomers Chase Sui Wonders, Madelyn Cline, Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers, and Jonah Hauer-King.
