After six stylish seasons, Steven Knight’s Peaky Blinders—or Birmingham Gang as it’s known in Hungarian—is concluding its story with a feature-length film. The finale will naturally focus on Tommy Shelby, played one last time by the now Oscar-winning Cillian Murphy. Fans can also expect the return of Paul Anderson and Stephen Graham’s characters, along with some new faces, including Barry Keoghan, known for portraying the Joker in Robert Pattinson’s The Batman universe. Details about Keoghan’s character remain under wraps, but his flat cap hints at a dangerous personality. While an official image of Keoghan’s character was previously released, the team shared a new photo of him with Murphy to mark the completion of filming.
“All done! Filming on the Peaky Blinders movie is officially wrapped, and it’s coming to Netflix. Wishing everyone a happy winter break, especially our amazing cast and crew,” the caption reads.
An exact release date hasn’t been announced yet, but the film, penned by Steven Knight and directed by Tom Harper—who helmed several episodes of the gangster series—is slated for release sometime next year.
