Not everyone was pleased with Netflix’s The Witcher series. In fact, Henry Cavill, the show’s star, has already exited, even though two more seasons are still in the works, with Liam Hemsworth stepping into the lead role. Many fans have criticized the writing team for drastically and disrespectfully altering Andrzej Sapkowski’s original stories. However, it’s worth noting that Sapkowski’s most recent Witcher novel, Season of Storms—released over a decade ago—wasn’t exactly a hit with a significant portion of the fanbase either.
Still, the upcoming new book might deserve a chance. The Polish magazine Nowa Fantastyka has revealed the cover—or part of it—featuring Geralt, as well as the title: Rozdroże Kruków (roughly translating to Crossroads of Crows in English). Though we suspect the official English title may be a bit more polished, the novel is set to debut in Poland on November 29, with the e-book release following on December 1. The international release is expected in early 2025.
While the plot remains under wraps, Sapkowski has previously confirmed that, much like Season of Storms, this book will not alter the events of the original pentalogy. Instead, it will serve as a supplementary story—a spin-off within the Witcher universe.
