[BRIEF] Zeus Recast in Percy Jackson Series Following Lance Reddick’s Passing

The Percy Jackson series, a new adaptation of the beloved novels, premiered on Disney+ in late 2023, and filming for Season 2 is already underway. Sadly, Lance Reddick, who portrayed the Olympian king of gods, Zeus, in Season 1, passed away at the age of 60 shortly after production wrapped.

It has now been confirmed that Courtney B. Vance, a two-time Emmy Award winner (The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, Lovecraft Country), will step into the role of Zeus for the second season. This upcoming season adapts The Sea of Monsters, the second book in the series, and will feature returning leads Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri. New cast members include Tamara Smart (Thalia Grace), Andra Day (Athena), Daniel Diemert (Tyson), and Timothy Simons (Tantalus), adding fresh faces to the fantasy world. (Source: Variety)
