The Boys is a wild superhero series known for its biting societal critique, though in recent seasons, that critique has become somewhat one-sided. Still, Eric Kripke and his creative team deserve credit for delivering a refreshing alternative to the polished, mainstream hero tales. However, all good things must come to an end, and the upcoming fifth season will be the show’s last. Filming has officially begun, and to mark the occasion, a new photo was shared via the official The Boys account on X (formerly Twitter), featuring series star Jessie T. Usher. That’s right—Usher is confirmed to reprise his role as A-Train in the series finale.
Hints about A-Train’s return had been dropped as early as August by the show’s fictional corporate parody account, Vought International. According to Vought, A-Train was "on a mission overseas, fighting for the free world," explaining his absence after his betrayal of Homelander. Of course, this was a lie, as A-Train had realized he was fighting for the wrong side, aiding the Boys with crucial intel during Season 4—actions that forced him to go on the run.
Usher himself recently confirmed the news on Instagram Stories, writing:
"Our stomachs are full, and so are our hearts. Season 5 is coming!"
