The John Wick series has currently concluded with its fourth installment, although no one has ruled out a fifth film, and even Keanu Reeves would be up for it, despite the pain in his knees at over sixty. The original concept for the first movie had John as a veteran in his seventies, with knee problems, even older than the current Keanu. However, producer Basil Iwanyk believed the role needed to go to a younger but already established and experienced movie star, so they adjusted the age. Iwanyk revealed to The Direct that, according to their stance, John Wick is 52 years old throughout the events of all four films, as they span less than a year. This roughly aligns with Keanu Reeves' age when he joined the franchise in 2013, at 49. If it’s so difficult to get the fifth installment off the ground, we might eventually see Derek Kolstad’s original concept come to life—a seventy-year-old John fighting for revenge... perhaps for the last time. Until then, a few spin-offs are on the way, including Ballerina starring Ana de Armas, which will hit theaters on June 5. Reeves will return as John Wick in that film.
