Paramount+ has released the official trailer for Dutton Ranch, the new original drama continuing the story of Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler after the events of Yellowstone. This time, the familiar Montana world gives way to South Texas, where Beth and Rip attempt to build a new life, a new ranch and something that almost looks like peace — which, naturally, does not last long.
Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser return as Beth and Rip, two of the most recognisable figures from the Yellowstone universe. The trailer makes it clear that Dutton Ranch is not simply a soft epilogue for the characters. Instead, it places them in a harsher new landscape, surrounded by fresh conflicts, old trauma and rivals who seem more than ready to test them.
The series follows Beth and Rip as they take on a 7,000-acre ranch in South Texas, with Carter also along for the journey. Their goal is to create a future away from the ghosts of Montana, but the trailer suggests that the Dutton name still carries danger wherever it goes. The emotional weight of John Dutton’s legacy also appears to remain close to the surface, giving the new chapter a strong connection to the original series.
One of the most intriguing additions is Annette Bening as Beulah Jackson, a wealthy and powerful rival ranch owner who looks set to become a major force in Beth and Rip’s new life. Ed Harris also joins the cast, adding even more weight to a series already leaning heavily into prestige Western drama.
For fans of Yellowstone, Dutton Ranch looks like a direct continuation of the same brutal family mythology, but with a different terrain and a slightly different kind of pressure. The trailer promises ranch politics, personal grief, violence, loyalty and the kind of sharp-edged dialogue that made Beth Dutton such a defining character in modern TV drama.
Dutton Ranch premieres on Paramount+ on May 15, with the first two episodes available at launch, followed by weekly episodes.
