At this summer's Comic-Con, Marvel announced with great fanfare that Robert Downey Jr. would play Doctor Doom in the next Avengers film. The news didn’t catch everyone off guard, including Tom Holland, whose former MCU mentor had already let him in on the secret. "I talked to him a lot, especially about his return, which is super exciting. It was tough to keep this secret because I’m known for spoiling things. So, it was a strategic decision not to do interviews," Holland revealed in a recent interview. He’s getting better at keeping secrets, having performed well during the press tour for No Way Home. Robert Downey Jr. will likely debut in his new role in Avengers 5: Doomsday, set to arrive in 2026, and Holland is expected to appear in it as well. The English actor recently also shared that the script for Spider-Man 4 is ready, and he has already read it.
