This spring, Anya Taylor-Joy plunged into the gritty world of Mad Max as the titular Furiosa. According to Variety, the star of The Queen's Gambit is now gearing up for her next project: a miniseries in which she will not only star but also serve as an executive producer alongside Reese Witherspoon. Developed under Witherspoon’s production company, Lucky has been greenlit by Apple and is an adaptation of Marissa Stapley’s 2021 novel of the same name.

Taylor-Joy will play a young woman raised among criminals who has left that life behind. However, she must confront her family’s dark legacy—hopefully for the last time—after her boyfriend mysteriously disappears.
