Although Rowan Atkinson hinted years ago that he would no longer portray the clumsy and incompetent agent, there’s good news for Johnny English fans: the next installment of the film has been officially announced. Filming will begin this summer, with Malta and, of course, the United Kingdom serving as the shooting locations.
The plot is still a secret, but it has been revealed that, like the previous films, this one will also be produced by Working Title Films, a subsidiary of Universal Pictures. The first Johnny English film was released in 2003, followed by Johnny English Reborn in 2011, with the third installment debuting in 2018. The franchise has grossed nearly $500 million worldwide.
