Sometimes the love of your life isn’t the end of the story.
Prime Video has released the official trailer for Love of Your Life, a sweeping new romantic drama starring Margaret Qualley as Maya, a young nurse whose life takes a dramatic turn after an unexpected romance changes everything.
Gabriel Basso plays Charlie, the man Maya meets by chance before the two fall deeply in love and begin building a future together.
Then that future is suddenly taken away.
Grief sends Maya into an entirely different life, eventually taking her away from Boston and across the Atlantic as she attempts to reinvent herself and figure out who she is without the relationship that once defined her.
Along the way she meets Felix, played by Aaron Pierre, who opens the possibility that love — and happiness — might still exist after loss.
But starting again isn’t quite the same thing as leaving the past behind.
The trailer moves between Maya’s relationships, friendships and travels as she struggles with grief, identity and the uncomfortable question at the centre of the story: how do you allow yourself to love again when part of you is still living in what you lost?
Patrick Schwarzenegger also stars as Maya’s best friend Jason, while Catherine Keener, Tamara Lawrance and Corey Johnson round out the ensemble.
Love of Your Life is directed by Rachel Morrison, the Oscar-nominated cinematographer who made her feature directing debut with The Fire Inside. Julia Cox wrote the screenplay, with Ryan Gosling and Jessie Henderson producing.
Morrison also brings her cinematographer’s eye to the film, following Maya across several years and locations including Boston and Portugal while keeping the story firmly centred on Qualley’s performance.
And despite the title, Love of Your Life doesn’t appear particularly interested in giving us a simple answer about which man Maya is supposed to end up with.
The bigger romance may be between Maya and the life she eventually learns to choose for herself.
Love of Your Life opens in select theaters on October 7 before streaming globally on Prime Video on October 14, 2026.
