Olivia Munn, who was seen in X-Men: Apocalypse and the TV series The Newsroom, spoke on Monica Lewinsky’s podcast about a "traumatic" incident that happened to her during the filming of one of her movies. She didn’t reveal the details but claimed that one studio offered her at least a million dollars in exchange for signing a non-disclosure agreement. However, she ultimately did not accept the offer.
"I had to file a complaint with the studio, and along with that, many other smaller things happened, but then we got to the point where they offered me a lot of money. It was a seven-figure sum, I think they would have apologized and acknowledged what happened, but the condition was a non-disclosure agreement. Not that I had ever spoken about it, because I wanted to get past it. But I said I wasn’t going to sign a non-disclosure agreement, and they said I had to."
Munn said this happened around the time the #MeToo movement was gaining momentum, and at that time, "anyone who signed an NDA was targeted." The actress feared that by signing the agreement, she would have made herself seem less credible, and she was also worried that the document might be leaked. She stated that she was proud of herself for walking out of the negotiation.
In 2017, Munn accused director Brett Ratner of masturbating in front of her on the set of The Last Diamond Heist in 2004. A year later, she reported director Shane Black at 20th Century Fox for hiring a registered sex offender for a minor role in The Predator (2018).
