Focus Features has released the second official trailer for Pressure, a tense World War II drama set during the final 72 hours before D-Day.
The film follows General Dwight D. Eisenhower and Captain James Stagg as they face a decision that could change the course of the war. With the Normandy invasion approaching, everything depends on the weather. Launch too soon, and the largest seaborne invasion in history could end in disaster. Wait too long, and the Allies risk losing their narrow window to strike.
Andrew Scott stars as Captain James Stagg, the British meteorologist whose forecast becomes crucial to the invasion plan. Brendan Fraser plays Eisenhower, carrying the burden of a decision that could cost thousands of lives either way. The trailer leans heavily into that pressure-cooker atmosphere: maps, storm warnings, military command rooms and the terrifying weight of uncertainty.
What makes Pressure especially interesting is that it does not appear to be a battlefield spectacle in the traditional sense. Instead, the drama sits in the hours before history happens. It is about calculation, fear, responsibility and the human cost of leadership before a single soldier reaches the beach.
Kerry Condon, Chris Messina and Damian Lewis also star, giving the film a strong ensemble around its central conflict. Directed by Anthony Maras and written by David Haig and Maras, Pressure is based on Haig’s 2014 stage play, which gives the story a concentrated, dialogue-driven intensity.
For audiences drawn to historical drama with real stakes, Pressure looks like a sharp and focused wartime thriller. The trailer suggests a film less interested in glorifying war and more interested in the terrible burden of deciding when history must move forward.
Pressure opens only in theaters on May 29, 2026.
