Martin Lawrence is enjoying something of a resurgence, thanks to the box office success of Bad Boys 3 and the upcoming Bad Boys 4, both of which grossed over $400 million worldwide. Now, Sony is looking to create a sequel for another of his ’90s films, Blue Streak. In Blue Streak, Lawrence played Miles Logan, a thief who stashes his loot at a construction site before being arrested, only to find out upon his release that a police station has since been built there. Logan decides to go undercover as a cop to retrieve his hidden stash.
Although an official announcement has yet to confirm it, Lawrence is very likely to reprise his role as the lead, though he’s only been confirmed as a producer in the initial announcement. The project currently has no director, but Cole Masika has signed on as screenwriter.
