STEEL BALL RUN 2nd STAGE Sends JoJo’s Wildest Race Into the Devil’s Palm

STEEL BALL RUN 2nd STAGE Sends JoJo’s Wildest Race Into the Devil’s Palm

Netflix has released the official trailer for STEEL BALL RUN JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure 2nd STAGE, and the race across America is about to become much stranger, harsher and more dangerous.

The anime adapts Part 7 of Hirohiko Araki’s legendary JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure manga, shifting the saga into a 19th-century cross-country horse race with a $50 million prize. At the centre are Johnny Joestar, a former jockey who has lost the use of his legs, and Gyro Zeppeli, a mysterious outlaw whose strange power and stranger confidence pull Johnny into a journey that is clearly much more than a sporting event.

2nd STAGE sends the racers into a brutal desert crossing of roughly 750 miles, where the landscape itself becomes a threat. The trailer highlights the Devil’s Palm, a feared region tied to ominous incidents and a deeper mystery surrounding the race.

This new stage also introduces major characters including Mountain Tim, Hot Pants and Funny Valentine, names that should immediately make longtime JoJo fans sit up a little straighter. Because, naturally, this is JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: even a horse race cannot simply be a horse race. It has to involve impossible abilities, bizarre names, destiny, danger and at least one person who looks like they walked out of a fashion magazine from another dimension.

What makes Steel Ball Run so exciting is how different it feels while still being unmistakably JoJo. The setting is dustier, more Western and more survival-driven than previous parts, but the series’ signature energy is still intact: dramatic poses, strange powers, intense rivalries and characters who somehow manage to look fabulous while actively suffering.

For fans of anime series, 2nd STAGE looks like the point where STEEL BALL RUN really starts showing its hand. The race is still the framework, but the trailer suggests that the real story is becoming bigger, darker and far more supernatural than the contestants first understood.

STEEL BALL RUN JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure 2nd STAGE begins streaming on Netflix on September 25, 2026, with new episodes released weekly on Fridays.
