Stephen Colbert may no longer have The Late Show, but apparently he still knows how to make an entrance.
Fresh from his former show’s seven-Emmy haul, Colbert joined Jimmy Kimmel for a wonderfully loose conversation about life after late night, his enormous collection of old suits and the beard his wife Evie absolutely hated. He had promised to shave it if The Late Show won — so Kimmel produced the clippers and Colbert did exactly that on camera.
He also discussed writing a new Lord of the Rings project with his son before ending the visit with something considerably more sentimental: gifting Kimmel his Captain America shield. Awards, facial hair and Marvel memorabilia — not a bad night back behind a late-night desk.
