With only two episodes left of Yellowstone, fans of the Dutton family don’t need to despair too much. After the main series concludes, Taylor Sheridan and his team will continue to expand the franchise with additional spinoffs, including more episodes of 1923. The prequel series, starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, debuted two years ago, and now we’ve received two short teaser videos for the second season, which also reveal that it will premiere on Paramount+ on February 23, 2025, in the U.S.
1923 is the second prequel in the saga, following 1883, which explored the story of the Dutton family’s post-Civil War generation. In 1883, we met Elsa Dutton, played by Isabel May, who returned as the narrator in 1923, which takes place 40 years later. The series is set during Prohibition, on the cusp of the Great Depression, and the Duttons face grave dangers. In one of the new teasers, Ford’s Jacob Dutton sounds the alarm, declaring that their way of life is "under attack."
The new season sees the harsh winter presenting fresh challenges for the family, while Jacob and his wife Cara (Mirren) also have unfinished business to settle. Ruthless circumstances and adversaries threaten the Duttons with ruin, and Jacob’s nephew, Spencer (Brandon Sklenar), races against time to return home to Montana to save his family. Meanwhile, a young British free spirit, Alexandra (Julia Schlaepfer), embarks on her own desperate journey across the Atlantic to find and reclaim Spencer.
