Lionsgate has released the “Who Are You” official clip from The Furious, and it does not waste time pretending this is going to be a polite action thriller. The clip puts Xie Miao and Joe Taslim face to face in a tense, hard-hitting moment that sells the film’s main promise clearly: fast, physical, no-nonsense martial arts chaos.
Directed by Kenji Tanigaki, The Fur
ious follows Wang Wei, a tradesman whose daughter is kidnapped by a criminal network. When the authorities fail him, Wei is pushed into a violent underworld where every step forward means another fight. His unlikely ally is Navin, a journalist with his own painful past, played by Joe Taslim.
The “Who Are You” clip works because it feels immediate. There is no long setup, no over-explaining, just bodies in motion, suspicion in the air and two performers who know exactly how to make a confrontation feel dangerous. Xie Miao brings a grounded intensity to the scene, while Taslim adds the kind of sharp physical presence that action fans will recognise from The Raid and The Night Comes for Us.
The cast also includes Yang Enyou, Brian Le, Joey Iwanaga, Sahajak Boonthanakit, Manatsanun Phanlerdwongsakul, Guo Junqing and Winai Wiangyangkung, with special appearances by Yayan Ruhian and Jija Yanin. That lineup alone gives The Furious serious genre weight, especially for viewers who follow modern Asian action cinema.
For fans of brutal, tightly choreographed martial arts thrillers, The Furious looks like one of the more exciting action releases on the way. The clip suggests a film built around impact, urgency and practical fight choreography rather than glossy superhero-style spectacle — and honestly, that is exactly the lane this kind of movie should be driving in.
The Furious is listed for theatrical release on June 12.
