Amazon MGM Studios is in full swing with preparations for the new Tomb Raider series, with Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Fleabag) on board as a producer.
Lara Croft has previously been portrayed by Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander. According to Deadline, this time the frontrunners are Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner and Bohemian Rhapsody actress Lucy Boynton, although the full list of contenders is still under wraps.
Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon MGM Studios, has promised an “epic” storyline. She also mentioned that Waller-Bridge is deeply committed to the project, remarking in a May interview that Lara Croft holds a special place in her heart.
Emma Corrin and Mackenzie Davis have also been mentioned as potential leads, though official details about the production remain scarce. Hopefully, we’ll hear more updates on its development in the near future.
