Tom Hardy has been seen in fewer films in recent years, but the star has been "practicing karate," or more precisely, has been training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu at a professional level, earning several belts in the sport. So, we believe him when he says he can easily take down a few criminals, at least if the power dynamics are adjusted for the fictional world. The Netflix action thriller Havoc, which will be available starting April 25, is coming, and in it, Hardy takes on the underworld figures. Check out the first brief trailer below!
Havoc marks Hardy’s return to tougher action films, considering the Venom trilogy episodes don’t require much seriousness, even though sometimes the brutal acts carried out by Eddie and his symbiote (played by Hardy) can be quite intense. The trailer for Hardy’s film promises non-stop action, similar to The Raid, John Wick, and Tyler Rake. The story is, accordingly, not overly complicated. Hardy plays Walker, a tough detective who dives into the world of crime and drugs to rescue a politician's son caught in the middle of a botched drug deal. He’s not caught in just one fire but several, as syndicates, corrupt leaders, and police are all hunting him down throughout the plot.
Havoc will debut on Netflix on April 25. The film is written and directed by Gareth Evans (known for The Raid and Gangsters of London). Alongside Hardy, the main roles are played by Forest Whitaker, Luis Guzmán, Timothy Olyphant, and Jessie Mei Li.
