Dinosaurs Invade Suburbia in The End of Oak Street’s Terrifying Final Trailer

Warner Bros. Pictures has released the final trailer for The End of Oak Street, an original science-fiction survival thriller that brings dinosaurs, domestic drama and suburban paranoia crashing together.

Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor star as Denise and Greg Platt, whose ordinary family life is shattered when a mysterious cosmic event tears Oak Street away from suburbia and transports the entire neighbourhood to an unknown location.

The residents soon discover that the familiar road now ends at a cliff overlooking an enormous prehistoric landscape—and they are no longer the dominant species.

The final trailer leans further into the film’s horror elements as dinosaurs stalk the displaced residents through their homes, gardens and streets. However, the story appears to be about more than simply escaping prehistoric predators. As the Platt family struggles to understand what happened, their survival increasingly depends on whether they can remain united.

The End of Oak Street is written and directed by David Robert Mitchell, the filmmaker behind It Follows and Under the Silver Lake. J.J. Abrams produces alongside Hannah Minghella, Jon Cohen, David Robert Mitchell, Matt Jackson and Tommy Harper.

Abrams has compared the film’s combination of family drama, humour and supernatural danger more closely to Poltergeist than a conventional dinosaur adventure, describing it as a character-driven story containing monsters rather than simply a monster movie. Mitchell has also explained that he wanted to connect an ordinary suburban environment with something completely fantastical.

The cast also includes Maisy Stella and Christian Convery as the Platt children, while Michael Giacchino provides the film’s musical score.

The End of Oak Street will begin its international theatrical rollout on 12 August 2026, before opening in North American cinemas and IMAX on 14 August 2026.
