Warner Bros. has shared a new Evil Dead Burn promo titled “Family Dinner,” and the joke is exactly as nasty as fans would hope: this is not the kind of meal where anyone leaves politely.
The clip continues the film’s core setup, with Alice arriving at her late husband’s secluded family home after his death. She is looking for grief, answers and maybe some fragile connection with the people he left behind. Instead, she gets the very specific Evil Dead version of family bonding: demonic possession, violence and relatives who should absolutely not be trusted near sharp objects.
The “Family Dinner” title works because it taps into the horror of forced intimacy. A dinner table is already the perfect place for family tension, secrets and resentment. Add Deadites, and suddenly every awkward silence becomes a warning sign, every smile looks wrong, and every person in the room may be seconds away from becoming something much worse.
Souheila Yacoub leads the film as Alice, with Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan and Tandi Wright also starring. Directed by Sébastien Vaniček and produced by Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert, Evil Dead Burn continues the franchise’s modern standalone approach: new characters, new location, same ancient evil making a complete mess of human bodies and emotional stability.
What makes this spot fun is that it sells the film through one of the franchise’s oldest strengths: domestic spaces turning hostile. The Evil Dead universe does not need a giant haunted castle. It only needs a house, a family, a bad decision and something cursed waiting to ruin everyone’s night.
