After more than three decades, Gizmo is officially heading back to the big screen.
Warner Bros.’ first Gremlins 3 teaser keeps things beautifully simple: something moves inside a familiar backpack before Gizmo cautiously appears and delivers an ominous little “uh-oh.” Chris Columbus, writer of the original 1984 film, will direct the sequel, with Steven Spielberg returning as executive producer.
The bad news is hidden right at the end. Gremlins 3 has been pushed from its previous November 19, 2027 date to October 6, 2028, meaning fans now have almost another year to wait. Plot and casting details remain secret, but after Gremlins 2: The New Batch arrived way back in 1990, ten seconds of Gizmo is already enough to get the nostalgia working.
