Helen Mirren only needs a few seconds to remind Jimmy Fallon why Maeve Harrigan is one of MobLand’s most entertainingly terrifying characters.
During her latest Tonight Show appearance, Mirren slips effortlessly into Maeve’s Irish accent before discussing A Talent for Murder, in which she transforms into legendary The Talented Mr. Ripley author Patricia Highsmith. Anton Corbijn’s psychological thriller pits her reclusive Highsmith against a young literary agent, played by Alden Ehrenreich, trying to convince her to write one final Ripley novel.
Mirren also reflects on receiving TIFF’s Share Her Journey Groundbreaker Award, which she dedicated to Dolly Parton and Gloria Steinem. Meanwhile, MobLand Season 2 — with Mirren returning alongside Tom Hardy and Pierce Brosnan — is now streaming on Paramount+.
