On Monday, the Golden Globe winners were announced, and the list featured predictable contenders like Emilia Pérez and The Brutalist, alongside some disappointments. One of these was the snub of Anora, despite the strong efforts of director Sean Baker and actress Mikey Madison. Another was Wicked, which only received a single award in the audience film category. Lastly, The Penguinâs other star, Cristin Milioti, inexplicably lost out to Jodie Foster (True Detective: Night Country). Both Wicked and Milioti now have a shot at redemption at the SAG Awards, the gala of the Screen Actors Guild, as the nominees have been announcedâand these films and stars are among them.
Wicked is a strong contender at the SAG Awards, having garnered five nominationsâthe most in the film categories. It is followed by Timothée Chalametâs Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown with four nominations, and Emilia Pérez and Anora, each with three. In the stunt category, even the divisive Gladiator II and Ryan Gosling's The Fall Guy made the cut. We have a hunch which one might win (and itâs not just because of its title). In the TV categories, ShÅgun is in a prime position with five nominations, and as mentioned, Milioti has another chance for recognitionâthough her competitor is again Foster. We'll see which series and performances the SAG voters favored!
