[IN SHORT] The first official image of Karl Urban as the very cool Johnny Cage from Mortal Kombat 2 has arrived.

Mortal Kombat didn’t exactly arrive in theaters under the best of circumstances four years ago, as there was a pandemic, and Warner Bros.' leadership at the time thought it was a good idea to release potential blockbusters simultaneously on Max and in theaters. Despite this, Simon McQuoid's film was a success, and although the production and filming of the sequel were hindered by the SAG-AFTRA strike two years ago, nothing can stop it from hitting theaters this October. The first official image, or rather, the poster of Johnny Cage, has arrived, showing how Karl Urban will look in the role of the movie star and fighter, originally modeled after Jean-Claude Van Damme. Alongside him, there will be newcomers like Adeline Rudolph, Tati Gabrielle, Martyn Ford, Desmond Chiam, Ana Thu Nguyen, CJ. Bloomfield, and Damon Herriman. The director's chair will again be held by McQuoid, with the script written by Jeremy Slater (Godzilla x Kong). The planned release date is October 2025.
