There has been buzz in recent years about a potential Rush Hour 4, but so far, nothing concrete has materialized.
Jackie Chan, who has become a rare sight in Hollywood films over the past few years, recently explained that this is no accident. In an interview with Brazilian magazine Filmelier, the actor opened up about why he has essentially stepped away from the Western film industry:
“I want to ensure that every year, people see a new side of Jackie Chan. I don’t want to be thought of as just an action star; I want to be recognized as a real actor who can truly do these things. And I don’t like repeating myself,” Chan said.
He also mentioned that while he has received numerous offers, most of them tried to cast him in the same old role—a Hong Kong cop. Jackie’s most recent major Hollywood appearance was in 2017’s The Foreigner. For now, it seems fans will have to wait for his big Hollywood return.
