A private yacht, a mysterious stranger and a criminal underworld would normally be enough trouble. Day Drinker appears to have something even stranger in mind.
Madelyn Cline stars as a yacht bartender who crosses paths with Johnny Depp’s enigmatic passenger before both become entangled with a dangerous criminal figure played by Penélope Cruz. The teaser deliberately keeps the real connection between them secret, while Depp ominously suggests his story could involve revenge, ghosts — or something worse. Lionsgate’s official synopsis isn’t giving away the answer either.
Directed by Marc Webb, Day Drinker reunites Depp and Cruz for their fourth film together, with Manu Ríos, Arón Piper and Juan Diego Botto also starring. Whatever exactly Depp’s very unusual traveller is hiding, we’ll find out when Day Drinker arrives exclusively in theaters on March 26, 2027.
