After spending much of the season in the past, Lanterns has finally returned to 2026 — and things have changed dramatically.
HBO Max’s new Inside Episode 6 featurette goes behind “Bad Optics,” as John Stewart is pulled away from the successful life he built after Rushville and back into the mystery surrounding Hal Jordan’s death. The episode also gives Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner a much larger role, while opening several new questions about Hal’s missing ring, Sinestro and exactly what Hal had been investigating before he died.
With only two episodes left, the season has effectively transformed from John and Hal’s origin story into a murder investigation with much bigger DC consequences. Lanterns continues Sundays on HBO Max.
