Marvel has put three upcoming series on hold, including one based on a rather bizarre character

According to a recent report from Deadline, Marvel Television, responsible for the MCU series, has paused work on three of its upcoming shows. As a result, neither Strange Academy, nor Nova, nor Terror, Inc. is currently moving forward. Sources from the outlet say that none of these projects have actually been greenlit yet, and since the studio is allegedly focusing on other priorities, it's uncertain if any of these will ever come to fruition.

This new model is supposedly no longer about Marvel announcing a bunch of series that mostly get made. Instead, they are starting many projects at once, with only a fraction of them actually reaching completion. In other words, Marvel is taking a more traditional approach than they have in the past.

Of the three shows, Nova, which focuses on a superhero working as a space cop, was probably in the best shape, as rumors about its arrival have been circulating for quite some time. It was supposedly still in development as of last December, and Marvel even brought in Ed Bernero as a writer, who previously worked on Criminal Minds. Strange Academy was based on a relatively new comic series, and reportedly, we would have seen Wong trying to run a school full of young students with magical powers.

Perhaps the most unique of the three paused projects is Terror, Inc., which centers on an antihero called Terror, who first debuted in the '80s. He has the ability to absorb the body parts of others, gaining their abilities and memories. Of course, we won't be left without MCU series this year, as Daredevil: Born Again is set to debut soon, and Ironheart and Wonder Man are also expected to arrive sometime later this year.
