Warner Bros. has released the official trailer for Practical Magic 2, bringing Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman back to the spellbound world of the Owens family.
The sequel reunites Bullock as Sally Owens and Kidman as Gillian Owens, the sisters at the heart of the 1998 cult favourite. Decades later, the Owens women are still living under the shadow of the family curse: any man loved by an Owens woman is doomed to die.
This time, the danger reaches a younger generation. Joey King and Maisie Williams join the story as Sally’s daughters, Kylie and Antonia, with the trailer showing Kylie falling in love — and that love quickly becoming tied to the same deadly pattern the family has spent years trying to survive.
That gives Practical Magic 2 a strong legacy-sequel hook. The original film was never only about witchcraft. It was about grief, sisterhood, inherited fear and the strange comfort of finding power inside a family that the outside world never fully understood. The sequel appears to carry those same themes forward, but with the added pressure of daughters now facing the curse their mother and aunt once tried to outrun.
Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest also return as Aunt Franny and Aunt Jet, which is exactly the kind of news longtime fans wanted. Their presence helps keep the sequel connected to the warmth, eccentricity and midnight-margarita energy that made the original so beloved.
The new cast also includes Lee Pace, Xolo Maridueña, Solly McLeod and other fresh faces, widening the Owens world while keeping Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman’s sisterly bond at the centre. And that is still the real magic here: not just spells, candles or family lore, but the emotional force of women standing together when love becomes dangerous.
