Some celebrity stories involve wild parties and expensive gifts. Queen Latifah’s favourite Dolly Parton memory involves homemade chicken and dumplings.
Visiting The Tonight Show, Latifah looked back on working with Parton on 2012’s Joyful Noise and revealed that Dolly actually cooked for her during filming. It’s a small story, but an especially lovely one now — a glimpse of the warmth and generosity so many of Parton’s friends have remembered since her death.
Latifah also discussed her Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction and joining The Voice as a coach, but somehow Dolly showing up with dinner may still be the best story of the night.
