Searchlight Pictures has released the official trailer for Super Troopers 3, bringing the Broken Lizard crew back for the third chapter in the cult comedy franchise.
Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske return as the gloriously irresponsible troopers who somehow keep finding themselves near law enforcement, public safety and other things that should probably require adult supervision. Brian Cox also returns as Captain O’Hagan, because apparently somebody still has to look disappointed in everyone.
This time, the story centres on Farva’s wildly over-the-top Indian engagement to Thorny’s sister, which spirals into exactly the kind of disaster fans would expect. While wedding chaos builds, Thorny schemes to break up the relationship, and the troopers are also pulled into a new drug-ring investigation. So yes: romance, sabotage, crime and absolute procedural nonsense. Very on-brand.
The trailer leans into the franchise’s familiar rhythm: dumb confidence, escalating stupidity, aggressive moustache energy and the kind of jokes that make no attempt to behave respectfully in a nice room. Super Troopers has always worked best as a comedy about men who treat police work like an extended prank war, and the third film seems ready to drive that formula straight back into traffic.
The cast also adds several new faces, including Nat Faxon, Chace Crawford, Andrew Dismukes, Hannah Simone, Iqbal Theba, Sakina Jaffrey, Jon Rudnitsky and Lisa Gilroy. That gives the returning Broken Lizard team more people to annoy, confuse and probably emotionally damage before the credits roll.
For fans of cult comedy movies, Super Troopers 3 looks less like a reinvention and more like a reunion with exactly the kind of chaos people came for. The franchise was never about subtlety, polish or good decisions. It was about timing, stupidity, team chemistry and the sacred cinematic art of making grown adults say “meow” far too seriously.
Super Troopers 3 opens in theaters on August 7, 2026.
