DC Studios has released a new “Tickets on Sale Now” promo for Supergirl, reminding fans that Kara Zor-El’s first solo big-screen adventure in the new DC Universe is almost here.
Milly Alcock stars as Kara, bringing a very different energy to the Kryptonian mythos. This is not simply Superman with a different cape. Kara’s story comes from a harsher place: she survived the destruction of Krypton in a way Clark never did, carrying the trauma of loss, displacement and anger across the galaxy.
The promo leans into the film’s theatrical scale, with Supergirl positioned as a big summer DC event made for cinemas and IMAX. After years of the character appearing mostly on television or in ensemble settings, this marks a major moment for Kara Zor-El as a true cinematic lead.
The film draws inspiration from Tom King and Bilquis Evely’s acclaimed Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, while taking its own path within James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU. Kara’s journey is expected to involve Ruthye Marye Knoll, Krypto and a dangerous quest across strange corners of the galaxy, with Jason Momoa also entering the new DC Universe as Lobo.
That cosmic angle is what makes Supergirl especially interesting. The film has the chance to move beyond Earth-bound superhero storytelling and present Kara as someone more wounded, rebellious and unpredictable than audiences may expect. She is not arriving as a perfect symbol. She is arriving with baggage, attitude and a story shaped by survival.
For fans of superhero movies, the ticket-sales promo works as a clear reminder: DC’s summer belongs to Kara. The cape is ready, Krypto is involved, Lobo is somewhere nearby causing inevitable trouble, and the new DCU is about to test whether Supergirl can carry a theatrical adventure on her own terms.
Supergirl opens only in theaters and IMAX on June 26, 2026.
