DC Studios and Warner Bros. have released a new “Tickets on Sale Now” promo for Supergirl, giving fans one final push to book seats before Kara Zor-El arrives in theaters.
Milly Alcock leads the film as Kara, bringing a rougher, more wounded energy to the Kryptonian mythos. This version of Supergirl is not being positioned as a softer mirror of Superman. She has a very different history: while Clark Kent was raised on Earth, Kara survived the destruction of Krypton with the memory of what was lost much closer to the surface.
That emotional difference is key to the film’s appeal. Supergirl looks ready to explore Kara as a survivor shaped by grief, rage and cosmic isolation, rather than simply presenting her as another bright symbol in a cape. The promotional footage has leaned into that contrast, showing a character who feels more rebellious, more unpredictable and far less polished than audiences may expect.
The film draws inspiration from Tom King and Bilquis Evely’s Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, one of the most acclaimed modern Supergirl stories. That comic sent Kara on a strange, violent and emotional journey across space, and the film appears to carry over that broader cosmic tone. Krypto, Ruthye Marye Knoll and Lobo are all part of the wider picture, giving the story a very different flavour from a standard Earth-bound superhero origin.
The “Tickets on Sale Now” promo works as a reminder that this is being treated as a major theatrical event for the new DC Universe. After Superman, the spotlight now shifts toward Kara and a story that can expand the DCU beyond Metropolis, Earth politics and familiar superhero geography.
For fans of superhero movies, Supergirl looks like one of DC’s most interesting swings: a cosmic road movie, a revenge story, a character study and a big-screen introduction for a heroine who has too often been treated as a secondary figure. This time, Kara gets the centre of the frame.
Supergirl opens only in theaters and IMAX on June 26, 2026, with tickets now on sale.
