Netflix has released the official trailer for The Gentlemen Season 2, and Eddie Horniman has undergone quite a transformation since reluctantly discovering a cannabis farm beneath his aristocratic family estate.
A year later, reluctant is no longer the word.
Theo James returns as the Duke of Halstead, now fully embracing his place inside the criminal empire operated alongside Susie Glass and her father Bobby.
And Eddie no longer wants simply to survive the business.
He wants more.
In fact, he wants everything.
Season 2 expands Guy Ritchie’s stylish crime world far beyond the English countryside, taking Eddie and Susie’s operation international as the pair attempt to establish themselves among a significantly more powerful class of criminals.
The lakeside villas of Italy provide one of the new season’s major settings.
It is a world of extraordinary wealth, immaculate tailoring, expensive restaurants and beautiful scenery.
Naturally, almost everyone appears to be dangerous.
Kaya Scodelario returns as Susie Glass, still combining ruthless business instincts with the kind of calm authority required to operate a criminal organisation without looking remotely impressed by the people threatening her.
The partnership between Eddie and Susie remains at the centre of the series.
Season 1 began with two people forced to work together.
Season 2 begins with them actively choosing to.
That changes the dynamic considerably.
Eddie has discovered that he is surprisingly good at the criminal world.
His aristocratic upbringing gives him access to people, properties and social circles unavailable to conventional gangsters, while his increasingly ruthless instincts make him far more useful to the Glass organisation than anyone initially expected.
Susie already understood that world.
Now she has a partner ambitious enough to start challenging its boundaries.
Unfortunately, ambition is rarely free.
The official story for Season 2 reveals that Bobby Glass is beginning to make increasingly questionable decisions.
Ray Winstone returns as the imprisoned crime boss, still attempting to control his enormous organisation despite operating from behind bars.
For Eddie and Susie, Bobby’s deteriorating judgement creates an uncomfortable problem.
They can continue following his orders and risk losing everything.
Or they can intervene.
Neither option is particularly safe when the man in question built one of Britain’s largest criminal enterprises.
The new trailer also introduces an impressive collection of fresh players entering their world.
Hugh Bonneville joins the cast as Lord Hawthorne, bringing another layer of British high society into Ritchie’s collision between aristocracy and organised crime.
Michele Morrone appears as Cico Maldini, one of the figures connected to the Italian expansion, while Benedetta Porcaroli, Sergio Castellitto, Benjamin Clementine and Amra Mallassi are among the international newcomers.
British boxer Chris Eubank Jr. and television personality Maya Jama also join the ensemble, with Jama playing Aisha.
Their arrival reflects the larger scale of the second season.
Eddie and Susie are no longer dealing exclusively with eccentric criminals operating around one English estate.
Their ambitions now place them inside an international network of money, power and violence.
And every expansion creates another opportunity for someone to take what they have built.
Several familiar faces return from Season 1.
Daniel Ings is back as Eddie’s spectacularly unreliable older brother Freddy Horniman, whose combination of entitlement, insecurity and disastrous decision-making remains capable of creating problems no professional criminal could reasonably anticipate.
Vinnie Jones returns as Geoff Seacombe, the loyal groundskeeper whose quiet competence repeatedly made him one of the most dependable people surrounding the Horniman family.
Joely Richardson reprises her role as Lady Sabrina, while Giancarlo Esposito returns as American billionaire Stanley Johnston.
Jasmine Blackborow, Michael Vu, Harry Goodwins, Ruby Sear and Pearce Quigley also return.
The trailer promises exactly the combination audiences expect from a Guy Ritchie crime story.
Expensive suits.
Luxury cars.
Guns.
Very British insults.
Very expensive people behaving extremely badly.
And criminal negotiations that can move from polite conversation to extreme violence with remarkably little warning.
But beneath the style, Season 2 appears to be pushing Eddie towards a more significant transformation.
The first season asked whether an aristocrat who had spent his life outside organised crime could survive inside it.
That question has already been answered.
He can.
The more dangerous question now is whether he enjoys it too much.
Executive producer and co-writer Matthew Read describes Eddie as increasingly aspirational, while the trailer presents a man who has stopped thinking of the criminal empire as an unfortunate inheritance.
It has become an opportunity.
That puts him on potentially dangerous ground with both Susie and Bobby.
Susie may appreciate Eddie’s talent, but the Glass family did not build their organisation so that an ambitious duke could eventually take control of it.
And Bobby’s increasingly unstable decisions could force both younger partners to decide where their loyalty actually lies.
Guy Ritchie returns as creator, writer, director and executive producer, with Matthew Read again co-writing the series.
Ritchie’s fingerprints remain unmistakable.
The Gentlemen continues to treat organised crime as a collision between social classes, where inherited privilege and criminal power frequently become impossible to distinguish.
Season 2 simply gives that idea a much larger playground.
The English countryside was only the beginning.
Now Eddie and Susie are taking the business to Europe.
And the people waiting there may be considerably harder to impress — or intimidate.
Netflix has already confirmed that the story will continue beyond the upcoming episodes.
The Gentlemen has officially been renewed for Season 3, with Guy Ritchie returning to direct.
According to Ritchie, the ambition of the series has expanded alongside its world, making another season feel inevitable.
Before that happens, Eddie and Susie first have to survive Italy, Bobby’s increasingly unpredictable leadership and a new collection of criminals determined to test exactly how powerful the Duke of Halstead has become.
All eight episodes of The Gentlemen Season 2 premiere globally on Netflix on September 3, 2026.
