Yorgos Lanthimos is shooting his fourth film with Emma Stone, following The Favourite, The Lobster, and The Killing of a Sacred Deer. The upcoming Bugonia, slated for release in the fall of 2025, will be a remake of the cult South Korean sci-fi comedy Save the Green Planet!, and it seems that Stone, who recently won her second Oscar for her bold performance in The Lobster, has once again sacrificed her hair for Lanthimos. This is suggested by her appearance at the New York Film Festival, where she wore a wig that closely resembled her original hairstyle, as well as by photos of her in a hat on the streets, which could be concealing her bald or nearly bald head.
"Curiosity is killing me as to why Emma Stone wore a wig at the NYFF," wrote one user under a video of Stone, to which another X user responded by sharing the photos of her in a hat: "Emma Stone shaved her head for Yorgos Lanthimos' Bugonia, confirmed."
