The crew members were more focused on staring at the wall in the meantime

The Time of Love, in which the amazing Spider-Man and the new Black Widow, Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh, play a married couple, features a memorable scene. Garfield recalled that while filming one of the steamy moments in the romantic drama, he and Pugh got a little carried away, not realizing that the cameraman had already stopped rolling.

"The first take of this very intimate, passionate sex scene took place in a closed set, which means it was just Florence and me in the room with the cameraman, who is a really lovely guy, Stuart [Bentley]," Garfield recalled. "The scene was passionate, it was choreographed, and we started it, and as we were doing it, we went a little further than we probably should have because we didn’t hear when he called ‘cut.’"

Thanks to the proper preparations, Garfield and Pugh felt safe, so they figured that although the sex scene was lasting longer than initially planned, since no one told them to stop (meaning they didn’t hear Bentley call 'cut'), they would just let it unfold more naturally.

According to the actor, they "telepathically" signaled each other that the scene was going on a bit too long, and eventually, they just stopped, only to realize that the camera hadn’t been rolling for a while. The crew members in the room were feeling a bit uncomfortable. "I looked up, and in the corner stood Stuart and the sound guy. Stuart was holding the camera next to him, facing the wall," Garfield recalled.

The terrified horse’s head visible in one of the trailers had already become a meme before the premiere of The Time of Our Love. Directed by John Crowley (The Night Manager, Brooklyn) and written by Nick Payne (The Last Letter from Your Lover), the film follows the relationship between Pugh and Garfield’s characters over several decades, from their meeting through joys and sorrows.
