Wicker Final Trailer: Olivia Colman Finds an Unusual Husband

Olivia Colman is looking for love in the most unexpected place in the final trailer for Wicker, an unconventional fantasy romance that gives a whole new meaning to finding the perfect husband.

Set in a conservative seaside village, the film follows a lonely fisherwoman who has become an outsider among her judgemental neighbours. Tired of being mocked for her appearance, lifestyle and unmarried status, she decides to take matters into her own hands.

Her solution is certainly unusual: she commissions a local basketmaker, played by Peter Dinklage, to create a husband entirely out of wicker.

The resulting companion, portrayed by Alexander Skarsgård, turns out to be far more than a collection of woven branches. Their unconventional relationship soon sparks fascination, jealousy and outrage throughout the community.

Colman and Skarsgård lead a cast that also includes Elizabeth Debicki, Richard E. Grant, Marli Siu and Nabhaan Rizwan.

Written and directed by Alex Huston Fischer and Eleanor Wilson, the filmmaking duo behind Save Yourselves!, the movie is adapted from Ursula Wills-Jones' short story The Wicker Husband.

The production also features elaborate practical effects created with the involvement of Wētā Workshop, bringing Skarsgård's extraordinary character to life.

Blending absurdist humour, romance and fairy-tale fantasy, Wicker explores desire, social expectations and the uncomfortable reactions people can have when someone defies convention.

Following its premiere at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, the film is preparing for its theatrical release.

Wicker opens in select US cinemas on October 23, 2026, expanding to additional theatres on October 30.
