Adam Brody Talks Italy Getaway and Nobody Wants This Global Success
Adam Brody tells Jimmy Kimmel about travelling to Italy with Leighton Meester, leaving their children with grandparents and the worldwide popularity of Netflix's Nobody Wants This.
Adam Brody is enjoying the international success of Netflix's Nobody Wants This, but his latest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! proves that his life away from the cameras can be just as entertaining.
During the interview, Brody recalled taking a trip to Italy with his wife, actress Leighton Meester, while their children stayed home with their grandparents.
Preparing for the getaway apparently involved some homework: the actor revealed that he watched Stanley Tucci's travel series before the trip, drawing inspiration from the actor's celebrated exploration of Italian food and culture.
The conversation also revisited Brody's early ambitions in Hollywood. He spoke about beginning his acting journey at just twelve years old, the unusual jobs he worked before finding success and memories of the first concert he attended.
Of course, the discussion eventually turned to Nobody Wants This, the Netflix romantic comedy series that has introduced Brody to a new generation of viewers around the world.
The series stars Brody as Noah Roklov, a charismatic rabbi whose unexpected relationship with outspoken podcast host Joanne, played by Kristen Bell, creates complications involving family expectations, religious differences and their contrasting lifestyles.
Created by Erin Foster, the show has helped revive interest in Brody's romantic leading-man appeal, years after his breakout role as Seth Cohen on The O.C.
With its combination of relationship comedy and personal storytelling, Nobody Wants This continues to attract international attention.
The interview offers a relaxed look at Brody's career, marriage and the surprising reach of his Netflix success.
