After more than three decades, Gizmo is officially coming back.
The first teaser for Gremlins 3 is only around eleven seconds long, but it delivers exactly what fans wanted to see: Gizmo emerging from a backpack, apparently realised once again as a practical puppet rather than a fully digital creation. Chris Columbus, who wrote the original 1984 film, is returning to direct, while Steven Spielberg is back as executive producer.
There is one catch. Warner Bros. has moved the sequel from its previously announced November 2027 release to October 6, 2028, meaning the wait just became almost a year longer. Plot and casting details remain firmly under wraps for now — but after Gremlins 2: The New Batch arrived in 1990, seeing Gizmo again is already a pretty effective way to restart the hype.
