Heartstopper Forever Gives Nick and Charlie One Final Netflix Chapter

Heartstopper Forever Gives Nick and Charlie One Final Netflix Chapter

Netflix has released the official trailer for Heartstopper Forever, the feature-length finale that will bring Nick Nelson and Charlie Spring’s story to a close.

Instead of a fourth full season, Heartstopper is ending with a movie written by creator Alice Oseman and directed by Wash Westmoreland. That makes Heartstopper Forever feel less like a bonus special and more like a true final chapter — one designed to give the series the emotional send-off it deserves.

Kit Connor and Joe Locke return as Nick and Charlie, whose relationship has always been the gentle, beating heart of the show. After everything they have faced together, the finale now asks a more grown-up question: can first love survive change? Nick is preparing for university, while Charlie is continuing to grow into himself at school, and the possibility of distance forces both of them to think about who they are together and who they are becoming separately.

That is a very natural place for Heartstopper to end. The series has always been about more than romance. It has been about friendship, identity, mental health, queer joy and the terrifying little transitions that come with growing up. The trailer suggests that the finale will keep that same tenderness, but with a slightly more bittersweet edge.

The returning ensemble also matters. Tao, Elle, Isaac, Tara, Darcy and the rest of the group have helped make Heartstopper feel like a whole emotional world rather than just one central couple. Saying goodbye to Nick and Charlie also means saying goodbye to a friend group that has meant a great deal to fans.

For viewers who have followed this series from the beginning, Heartstopper Forever looks like exactly the kind of finale that may require tissues, snacks and possibly a small lie about “just having allergies.” It is a farewell, but not a bleak one. The show has always believed in softness, hope and love that helps people become more fully themselves.

Heartstopper Forever premieres globally on Netflix on July 17, 2026.
