Fighting a giant Dragonsnake is apparently just another day of parenting for Din Djarin.
In a new behind-the-scenes video, director Jon Favreau and Pedro Pascal break down Mando’s battle with the creature inside the flooded tank beneath the Hutt twins’ palace on Nal Hutta. The pair discuss the inspirations behind the monster, filming the sequence and how the fight ultimately ties back to Din’s most important role: protecting and teaching Grogu.
The creature itself also has deep Star Wars roots, with Favreau drawing inspiration from earlier animated stories and the franchise’s enormous catalogue of strange beasts. Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu is now streaming on Disney+.
