Few actors can look back at a career containing Ron Burgundy, Buddy the Elf, Ricky Bobby and Brennan Huff.
Will Ferrell sits down with Vanity Fair to revisit scenes from Anchorman, Talladega Nights, Elf, Step Brothers and his Saturday Night Live years, sharing memories from the sets and the moments that somehow became comedy classics. He even reveals that Elf’s department store interiors were filmed inside Vancouver’s former Riverview psychiatric hospital.
And some scenes were apparently almost impossible to finish. Ferrell remembers the famous Talladega Nights dinner sequence taking most of the day as the cast improvised so much that even the camera operator eventually had to call cut because he couldn’t stop laughing. Twenty years later, Ferrell watching himself crack up at the footage might be the perfect way to revisit it.
