Robert Pattinson steps into the world of To Catch a Predator in A24’s Primetime, playing Chris Hansen at the height of the controversial television phenomenon. The new trailer shows ratings exploding as Hansen’s confrontations turn criminal investigations into primetime entertainment — while the line between journalism, justice and spectacle becomes increasingly uncomfortable.
Directed by Lance Oppenheim and inspired by true events, the film also stars Merritt Wever, Skyler Gisondo, Matthew Maher and Bokeem Woodbine. Rather than simply recreating the famous stings, Primetime asks a darker question: what happens when exposing something terrible becomes great television?
