The Inbetweeners 3 Is Officially Happening — And the Original Gang Is Back

The boys are back — and yes, Simon’s terrible yellow car survived too.

Netflix has officially confirmed The Inbetweeners 3, bringing Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley and Blake Harrison back together as Will, Simon, Jay and Neil more than a decade after their last big-screen disaster.

The first teaser doesn’t give away the story, and honestly, it doesn’t need to. We see the four friends reunited with Simon’s battered yellow Fiat Cinquecento, which naturally struggles to start before eventually carrying them off on whatever deeply questionable adventure awaits them next. Even the number “3” scratched into the dirt on the rear window feels perfectly on brand.

Original creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris are also returning to write and direct the film, making this a genuine continuation rather than a reboot with a younger cast. Production has now officially begun in the UK.

The Inbetweeners originally ran from 2008 to 2010 before making the jump to cinemas with The Inbetweeners Movie in 2011 and The Inbetweeners 2 in 2014. Both films became major British box-office hits, while the show itself turned Will, Simon, Jay and Neil into four of the most recognisable idiots in British comedy.

For now, Netflix is keeping the actual plot under wraps, and no official release date has been announced. The teaser is being circulated as a 2027 release, so we probably still have a while to wait.

But after twelve years, seeing all four of them climbing back into that Fiat is already enough.

Some things apparently never improve.
